Sashastra Seema Bal Recruitment 2013 for Constable (Driver)

Applications are invited for the posts of Constable (Driver) in Sashastra Seeema Bal. Vacancies are only for male candidates.

Job Description:

 POST: Constable (Driver)

Number of vacancies:
Details of No. of vacancies as per the following:
General               : 173
SC                      : 244
ST                       : 63
OBC                   : 91
Ex-Servicemen    :  74
Total                   : 645

Note:
  1. The current posts are temporary but it may have chance to be permanent.
  2. If the eligible candidates of the Ex-Serviceman are not available, then their vacancies will be filled up by the candidates of open category.
  3. The no. of vacancies may change without any notice at the time of final selection.
  4. Posting of the candidates may be anywhere within as well as outside the Territory of India as per  the transfer policy of the force
Salary:
Pay scale will be of Rs. 5200-20200 in the grade pay of Rs.2000/- and other allowances given to the central government employees.

Educational Qualification:
  • Matriculation OR Equivalent from a recognized Board/University.
  • Candidate must have a valid Heavy Vehicle Driving License.
Age Limit: 23 to 28 years (As of 1st August, 2013)

Age Relaxation: Age relaxation for the different categories as per the following:
For SC/ST: 5 years
For OBC: 3 years

For Government service candidates: Upper age limit up to 5 years
For the candidates who had been domiciled in the state of J&K for the duration of 01/01/1980 to 31/12/1989 are also eligible for upper age limit up to 5 years. For such age relaxation they have to produce a certificate from the concerned District Collector.

For the children and dependent family members of those killed in the 1984 riots and 2002 communal riots of Gujarat, 5 years of age relaxation will be granted.

Dates to Remember: The last date of receipt of application is 1st August, 2013.

For the candidates from NorthEastern States, Sikkim, Pangi Sub-Division of Chamba, Lahaul & Spiti and Kinnaur Districts of Himachal Pradesh, Ladakh Division, Kashmir of J&K State and the Union Territories of Anadaman and Nicobar islands and the Lakshadweep, the closing date for receipt of applications by post 8th August, 2013.

Application Fees:
For the candidates of General and OBC categories, application fee will be Rs. 50. SC/ST and Ex-Servicemen candidates do not have to pay any application fee. The candidates have to attach the non refundable Bank Draft drawn in favour of "Accounts Officer, FTR HQ, SSB, Siliguri, (West Bengal)" payable at SBI Siliguri, Code No.0184.

Selection Process:
The selection process consists of following rounds:
  • Documentation
  • Physical Standard Test ( PST)
  • Physical Efficiency Test ( PET)
  • Written Test
  • Driving/ Technical test ( Trade Test)
  • Final Medical Examination
  • Review Medical Examination
How to Apply:
Eligible candidates have to send their application in the prescribed format BY POST with two attested passport size photographs duly affixed on application form and admit card at the provided space along with application fee of Rs.50/- and attested copies of testimonials. Two self-addressed envelopes of 4"x9" size with Rs.25/- postage stamps should also be attached with the application form.

APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF CONSTABLE (DRIVER) IN SSB should be written on the envelope containing the application. The incomplete applications received after the last date will be rejected.
