Disaster Recovery Standard Requirements

Crucial Requirements:

  1. The goal of a disaster recovery plan is to minimize the costs resulting from losses of, or damages to, the resources or capabilities of your IT facilities. The success of any disaster recovery plan depends a great deal on being able to determine the risks associated with data loss. What is the impact to our business if the data is lost?

  2. Are we a listed company, if so ask ourselves this: Disaster recovery planning, or its lack, will affect a companys equity position. why buy stock in a company that will disappear should the data center go down?

  3. Has your organization ever had to invoke its disaster recovery plan which included the CRM solution and if so was the recovery time objective met and how long did it take to return to your primary solution?

  4. Does the organization require detailed Business Recovery Plans for all the organizations business entities, or whether the focus is on how the IT Disaster Recovery Plans supports the business entities?

  5. Disaster recovery planning, also called contingency planning, is the process of preparing your organizations assets and operations in case of a disaster. but what do we define as a disaster?

  6. Have policies and procedures been established to ensure the continuity of data services in an event of a data breach, loss, or other disaster (this includes a disaster recovery plan)?

  7. Has specific responsibility been assigned for the execution of business continuity and disaster recovery plans (either within or outside of the information security function)?

  8. Has the organization established an enterprise-wide business continuity/disaster recovery program that is consistent with FISMA requirements, OMB policy, and applicable NIST guidelines?

  9. What are some of our practices for having application consistent snapshots across multiple persistent storage systems for disaster recovery and or high availability purposes?

  10. From downtime costs to regulatory compliance, the need for strategic business continuity and disaster recovery (BCDR) planning is clear, but what does that mean for your organization?

Agile Project Management Standard Requirements

Crucial Requirements:

  1. Being managed by someone else is totally ingrained in our life and work experience. Parents, teachers, and bosses who teach us to self-manage instead of striving to fulfill their expectations are rare. Why should we expect that when we tell a Team that it is responsible for managing itself, it will know what we are talking about?

  2. How straightforward will it be to change the hearts and minds of the people working on projects? Some organizations by their very nature are conservative, while others are quite radical. Incorrectly identifying the prevailing attitudes towards agile will result in poor take-up or even rejection of any new practices.

  3. There is lots of discussion about the role of a project manager; whether a project manager is needed in the agile world or not. How much and which way a traditional project manager has to change his/her management style or way of working in order to be an agile project manager?

  4. Agile project management with Scrum derives from best business practices in companies like Fuji-Xerox, Honda, Canon, and Toyota. Toyota routinely achieves four times the productivity and 12 times the quality of competitors. Can Scrum do the same for globally distributed teams?

  5. first iteration. The “plan” for the team is then a list of prioritized features, and who is to perform the tasks of developing the features is decided on during the iteration. What is important in the kick-off meeting to enable feedback and learning?

  6. A lot of these decisions are based around selecting the correct level of governance and ceremony. At project initiation there should be questions such as ‘Do we run this as a full-on PRINCE2 project or do we use some of DSDM for this?'

  7. Scrums productivity stems from doing the right things first and doing those things very effectively. The product owner queues up the right work by prioritizing the product backlog. How does the team maximize its productivity, though?

  8. Partial solutions can only be used if the information support is being developed for a process that has not yet been computerised. Namely, if users already use an old IT solution – will they partly use the old one and partly the new one?

  9. What is the difference, if any, in customer satisfaction between the use and results of agile-driven software development methods and the use and results of plan-driven software development software development methods?

  10. The fundamentals of agile software development, agile project management, and evolutionary development have been proven and demonstrated to be highly successful. Are these now preferred in our organization?
