Jitendra Singh inaugurates Hall of Nuclear Power in New Delhi.
  • Minister of State in the Prime Minister's Office and Atomic Energy and Space, Jitendra Singh has inaugurated the Hall of Nuclear Power in New Delhi. This is Northern India's first permanent exhibition on nuclear power, built in the national capital, which is going to be opened to the public at National Science Centre (NSC).
Smriti Irani releases literary calendar of NCPUL
  • Union Minister for Human Resource Development Smriti Irani has released the literary calendar of National Council for Promotion of Urdu Language (NCPUL) depicting famous Urdu poets and writers. 'The Literary Calendar 2016' is adorned with the photographs of the legendary Urdu poets and writers of the last 200 years along with the depiction of their dates of birth and demise.

Chinese President Xi launches Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank
  • China-backed Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), in which India and 56 countries have joined as founding members, was formally opened here today by Chinese President Xi Jinping.
Andhra Bank to launch gold bond scheme
  • Andhra Bank has announced the launch of the Sovereign Gold Bond Scheme Tranche-II, sponsored by the Centre, for the public subscription for five days from January 18 to 22 at all its 2,755 branches.
Haiti hits by an outbreak of Zika virus
  • Haiti has been hit by an outbreak of the Zika virus. It is a mosquito-borne ailment similar to Dengue fever that is rapidly spreading through the Caribbean.
CONCOR to set up Rs. 450 crore multi-modal logistics park at Kakinada
  • Container Corporation of India Limited (CONCOR), a Government of India undertaking under the Ministry of Railways has planned to develop a Multimodal Logistic Park at Kakinada Port with an investment of about Rs. 450 crore.
